Being born to creative parents who loved the outdoors, Charlotte Fraser was raised spending time in nature and finding the beauty in many strange little things. The artist’s intention hope with Vivid Creatures is to showcase a surprising beauty and appreciation of beings which aren’t typically considered beautiful or interesting.

Not all bugs are beautiful, but these depicted certainly are. Fraser loves the idea of focusing her painting on a singular, strong subject, giving full respect and appreciation to every aspect of that subject. She has been dreaming of this curious collection for a few years, and once she found the perfect images and photographer for inspiration, Fraser knew these pieces would go on to represent her first original series of work.
