The Tide Is High: Where Art and Action Collide

October 23, 2017 @ 6:30 pm UTC+0

Free – $10

In conjunction with her exhibition at the Halsey Institute as a part of the SEA CHANGE initiative, “The Tide is High”, Aurora Robson will present a lecture as a part of the South Carolina Aquarium’s Holland Lifelong Learning Program.

“The Tide Is High: Where Art and Action Collide”

Can one man’s trash be another’s treasure? Find out for yourself at this expert-led discussion geared toward adults in a relaxed social environment.

Activist artist Aurora Robson focuses on intercepting the waste stream and changing the conversation around plastic pollution. With an estimated 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic in our oceans today, Robson demonstrates how to reuse plastic in sculpture form with Wave, a breathtaking “ring of fire”  made from recovered Tide detergent bottles.
