February 17 and 18 at 7:30pm
$18 – $52

One original work and one world premiere ballet and score with choreography by SC Arts Commission’s 2017 Fellowship winner, Jonathan Tabbert take to the Sottile Theater stage this February.  The Good Book is the culmination of Ballet Evolution’s full artistic purview by incorporating two original scores by the talented Laura Ball brought to life by the accomplished musicians of Chamber Music Charleston.  This double bill performance draws inspiration from the most read book in history, The Bible.  Our evening of sights and sounds begins with the re-staging of “Creation”. The birth of Adam and Eve and their time in Eden are told through this emotional score and virtuoso choreography.  From the naming of the animals of the land to the deception of the serpent, we follow Adam and Eve’s journey to the ultimate banishment of the garden by the archangels.  Our second act looks at the life and images of Jacob, the father of the Hebrew nation.  We see five vignettes or “frescos” of key moments in his life including his fight to be the first born to the infamous “Jacob’s Ladder”.  Join us for an inspired evening of live music and dance that will be fun for the whole family.
