Charleston Opera Theater and the Charleston Library Society are proud to present a panel discussion about the holiday Día de los Muertos and how the traditions and festivities tied to the festival shaped the setting of the new production of Mozart’s masterpiece Don Giovanni with performances in October at the College of Charleston Sottile Theatre. The panel will be moderated by Charleston Opera Theater’s Executive Artistic Director, Harold Meers; and include Dr. Lisa Covert – Associate Professor at the College of Charleston, Ivan Segura – Program Manager for the Hispanic/Latino Affairs Division at the South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs, Junior Ortiz – Vice President of the Hispanic and Latino Club at the College of Charleston and John de los Santos – the Stage Director for Don Giovanni. This exciting and informative evening is being offered free to the public as a part of the Library Society’s Speaker Series.
