Martin Gallery and Langston Hughes III has partnered to bring art, wine, and classic hip hop to Broad Street; Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Martin Gallery from 7pm until. The event is free with suggested donations and proceeds will go to THRIVE and The Greg Mathis Charter School.
Martin Gallery is located at 18 Broad Street Charleston, South Carolina 29401. There will be visual art from Whitney Warden, Atlanta, Georgia, Elva Lovoz, Washington, D.C., Javet Blunt, Charleston, South Carolina, and Martin Askem, United Kingdom.
To round the experience off Hip Hop pioneer, DJ Red Alert will provide the music backdrop for the evening. He was very influential in developing our taste and love for hip hop music, when hip hop was not played on the radio. He set the trends and paved pathways for Low Country legends: DJ AKfool, DJ G Money, and DJ Cory B, who will also add to the sound of the evening. Hip Hop performances will come from independent artist CHOYCE, Benjamin Starr, Epic/Culture Republic artist Nick Grant, and Langston Hughes III.
To complete the evening of events, the Lowcountry’s own, Deepwater Vineyards, will be conducting a wine tasting throughout the night. For more information about this event go to www.merlotmoments.info.
