Internationally-acclaimed soprano MaryAnn McCormick returns to the CSO to sing Bach cantatas for our Chamber Music Series after her stirring performance with us on New Year’s Eve, 2015. Music Director Ken Lam conducts the CSO Chorus in three Bach cantatas and the orchestra in Brandenburg Concerto No. 1.
The recipient of a 2012 Grammy award for her participation in Wagner’s Ring Cycle with the Metropolitan Opera, Ms. McCormick has performed many roles there in 112 performances. Equally at home with concert repertoire, she has performed with some of the greatest orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, The Boston Symphony, The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, and the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.
As a recitalist and chamber musician, Ms. McCormick’s notable venues include New York’s Morgan Library and Alice Tully Hall, Boston’s Jordan Hall, The Châtelet in Paris, and Tokyo’s Suntory Hall and Philadelphia’s Academy of Music accompanied by Wolfgang Sawallisch.
