The Charleston Jazz Orchestra proudly presents its April concert titled “Motown: The Groove that Changed America.” The concert will be held Saturday, April 15th at the Charleston Music Hall at 37 John Street, Charleston, South Carolina. Showtimes are at 5:00 and 8:00 p.m.

Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5, and South Carolina’s own James Jamerson are names associated with one of the greatest record labels of all time, MOTOWN. Founded by Berry Gordy, Jr., MOTOWN became an American institution and achieved significant crossover success, creating a style of soul music with a distinct pop influence. Join the CJO as they celebrate MOTOWN and the unique rhythmic groove that changed America!
