A MONTH and SOME DAYS
Two college students, Abril Castillo-Acosta and Corin Wiggins, Physical Theater students with a Minor in Film, are doing an internship at Art Pot. Maribel Acosta, director of the organization, is the mentor of this project, which involves a process of research, interviews, field work, and the production of a documentary film. The main objective is to delve into the reality of the Latino community and its challenges and achievements as immigrants, and to present the results from the perspective of the youth. One of the two college students is of Latino origin and the other knows very little information about this community; therefore, it is a challenge for them both. They have chosen to center their narrative on the stories of first and / or second generation Latino immigrant youth in the tri-county area.
We hope to disseminate this documentary film among different organizations and social media to raise awareness about the immigrant community, specifically the Latino community, through some experiences and lived stories and a careful artistic and professional execution, which we are sure will leave a mark on the viewer.
