This semester’s second installment of IN THE MIX, the College of Charleston Arts Management Program’s music industry series hosted by world renowned drummer, percussionist, two-time Grammy nominee, and adjunct instructor Quentin Baxter, will be held on Monday, March 4th at 6:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Simons Center for the Arts on campus, 54 St. Philip St. The event, “IN THE MIX: MANAGING, TOURING, & THE ROAD TO THE GRAMMYS” will feature special guest Shannon Herber, Pop & Dance/Electronic genre manager for the GRAMMY Awards. Herber will discuss her experience in artist management, tour management and operations, and the GRAMMY Awards. This event is free and open to students and the public.

Shannon Herber is a music industry executive with twenty years of experience currently serving as the Pop & Dance/Electronic genre manager for the GRAMMY Awards. Previously, she held positions including Manager, Publicity & Artist Relations at Universal Music Enterprises; Day-to-Day Manager for Carrie Underwood at 19 Entertainment; and Director of Operations/Tour Manager for Moby. In her spare time, she loves seeing live music, snorkeling, and collecting passport stamps through as many international adventures as possible.

Baxter is the CEO of his own music production company, Baxter Music Enterprises, LLC and an active performing and recording artist. He currently tours worldwide with two Grammy-nominated artists – vocalist and composer René Marie, and vocalist Freddy Cole. Baxter also tours with Ranky Tanky – the jazz-infused Gullah music ensemble which he co-founded in 2017. He received the Elizabeth O’Neill Verner Governor’s Award for the Arts in 2017, South Carolina’s highest award given in the arts.
