Music Director, Ken Lam, conducts the Charleston Symphony Orchestra’s opening Masterworks concert of the 2017-2018 season featuring Johannes Brahms’ beloved Symphony No. 2. Guest cellist, Julian Schwarz, joins the CSO in performing Édouard Lalo’s Concerto for Violincello on a cello made in Naples by Gennaro Gagliano in 1743. This exciting concert opens with Dvořák’s tone poem, The Noonday Witch, based on an eerie Czech folktale.
