Charleston Performing Arts Center (C-PAC) presents the World Premier of their newest music revue, “And They Called It Jazz”. This production is another original theatrical work created and choreographed by Broadway veteran, Kirk Pfeiffer; with musical arrangements by Joe Clarke.
Take a trip from the street corners of Bourbon Street to the clubs of Harlem and hear the progression of Jazz from its roots in Ragtime and The Blues, through the roaring twenties, and how some the tunes you’ve come to love morphed into the Jazz standards you love today. This show features a live 4-piece jazz band comprised of music students from the Charleston County School of the Arts.
Production opens March 24 and runs until April 23 Shows are every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night at 8:00pm; and Sundays at 4:00pm.
Adult tickets range from $35.00 to $45.00, with reduced prices available for Sunday Twilight performances. Senior, Military, Student, and Youth prices available.
Charleston Performing Arts Center, now in their third season, is located at 873 Folly Road on James Island, just one mile south off the James Island Expressway.
