The Charleston Music Club will present a free concert by the New Music Ensemble on Monday, January 29th at 7:30pm in the Chapel at Franke at Seaside. Focusing on engaging composers, musicians, and audiences in live collaborative events, the New Music Ensemble wants us all to discover that “modern music” can be accessible, evocative, meaningful and beautiful. NME is comprised of active professional Charleston musicians who are faculty at the Charleston Academy of Music. Selections will include Leos Janacek’s Suite for Strings, Joaquin Turina’s Rapsodia Sinfonica for piano and strings (soloist Patrick Boyle), and Ulyana Machneva soloing in the world premier of her Concerto for Guitar and Strings.
