Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale comes to life in an outstanding world premiere full length ballet with choreography by SC Arts Commission’s 2017 Fellowship winner, Jonathan Tabbert.  All new custom made costumes and impeccable new set designs by Buchanan Arts will transport the audience to another world filled with mischievous goblins and dancing snowflakes.  We will follow the beautiful young Gerda on her journey to rescue her true love Kai from the Snow Queen’s ice palace.  We meet a huge cast of characters along the way including the Spring Sorceress and her garden of magical flowers, the Summer Princess and her court of palace maidens, and the Autumn Gypsy Queen’s band of thieves.   This amazing cast of professional dancers of Ballet Evolution of Charleston is joined by over 50 hand-picked young artists from the Charleston dance community for a holiday performance for the whole family!  It will be a feast for both the eyes and the ears as the acclaimed musicians of Chamber Music Charleston play live original orchestrations of classical works, acting as the playful soundtrack to this timeless story.  Don’t miss out on this incredible holiday offering and join us December 16th &17th @7:30pm at the Sottile Theatre. Tickets range from $18-$52.
