The College of Charleston Music Department’s 2nd Monday Series is a monthly professional concert series that features CofC faculty and special guests. Early arrival is advised, as seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Philip Lipton is the Principal Clarinet of the North Charleston POPS! Orchestra. His work with the POPS includes the POPS!KidZ outreach to Title One instrumental programs. Regionally, he concertizes in a variety of chamber music and orchestral settings including the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, the South Carolina Chamber Music Festival, Charleston Opera Company performances, as well as the Magnetic South contemporary music concerts.
As a soloist, he has toured his Influence of Benny Goodman concert extensively in California and across the Southeast. His performances abroad have included collaborations with the Orford Academy of the Arts faculty Woodwind Octet in Quebec. While Philip spends much of his time performing and preparing for concerts, he is also an inspired educator and composer.
General admission is $15 and student admission is $10.
