We are honored to present the work of Robert Zakanitch, one of American contemporary art history’s most important figures. The Charleston exhibition will include illustrations which are featured in his children’s book, “Good Dog,” published by Random House.
As a founder of The Pattern and Decoration movement in the 1970s (possibly the last art movement in modern art history), Zakanitch has been represented by many of the top galleries in Manhattan. Renowned art critic David Pagel calls Zakanitch’s work “a wild collision between freewheeling bohemian abandon and settled-down domestic sociability.”
