Two aspiring comedy writers incite their relatives when they use familial foibles as a basis for a new radio series. Set in 1949 Brooklyn, Broadway Bound is the poignant and funny conclusion to Neil Simon’s semi-autobiographical ‘Eugene trilogy’ (following Brighton Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues). Eugene and his brother Stanley are trying to break into the world of professional comedy writing, while coping with family problems at home. When their material is broadcast for the first time, the rest of the family is upset to hear a comedic rendition of their own trials and tribulations. How will Eugene and Stanley balance their loyalties to family and to their ambitions?
