Spirits Rising, 200 years of spirituals: 19th century, traditional and contemporary spirituals sung by Lowcountry Voices, will be presented by the Candlelight Concert Series at the Unitarian Church.
Lowcountry Voices, Charleston’s noted multi-cultural choir directed by Nathan Nelson, emphasizes performance of African-American music in the South Carolina Lowcountry tradition. This is the second in the Unitarian Church’s anniversary Candlelight Concert season in which each concert explores music of the Lowcountry during the church’s 200 year history. A reception featuring paintings by Richard Hagerty will follow in Gage Hall.
Donations of $15 for adults $10 for students taken at the door. Facilities are accessible. Childcare is available.
