Trident Technical College’s Clemente Players will present “Smoke on the Mountain,” a two-act musical written by Connie Ray, March 31-April 2, at TTC’s Main Campus Student Center in North Charleston. The productions are fundraisers for the Charleston Clemente Course at TTC, which offers free college-level courses to disadvantaged people in the Charleston area.
The musical takes place in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Mount Pleasant, N.C. in 1938. The play presents a “Saturday Night Gospel Sing” at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church featuring the Sanders Family in their first night back on the gospel circuit in five years. The production will get you singing along and put you in the middle of the Baptist gospel glory of the misty mountains.
Tickets are $17, $20 and $25, and may be purchased online or by calling 843.574.6605.
